Workshops

Workshops provide a forum for new and experienced supervisors to come together and to explore aspects of their supervision practice. They also provide an interdisciplinary context for supervisors from across departments and faculties to share their ideas and strategies for good supervision. The workshop program runs parallel with supervisors’ interactions in the Independent Study Program (ISP).

For supervisors interested in completing the ISP, the workshops and sessions described below are an optional component of your learning. It is up to you to choose how the workshop program can best support your learning and progression through the modules. You can attend none, one, or all of the workshops or sessions and still complete the ISP. Participating in the workshops and sessions does not constitute program completion. If you want to know what it means to complete the Program, read the information about the Independent Study Program above.

We offer three different types of workshops and sessions:

  1. Understanding Research Higher Degree Supervision (unavailable in Semester 1, 2008)
  2. Supervision Development Online Sessions
  3. Gaining Recognition for your Supervision Development
