Overview

Project Goals

The National Graduate Attributes Project (National GAP) focused on the reinvigorating of the Graduate Attributes implementation processes and debate within Australian universities and the establishment of a network of discipline experts and strategic learning and teaching leaders with a shaerd scholarly basis from which to engage in curriculum renewal to foster graduate attributes.

Project Approach

Phase One of this project combines analysis of research literature, university policy statements and AUQA audit reports, with input from an international reference group, in order to develop a list of key issues relating to embedding and assessing generic graduate attributes in universities. Read more about phase 1.

Phase Two focuses on working with institutional contacts to identify how these key issues are reflected in the policies and practices of embedding and assessing generic graduate attributes in Australian universities, and identifying affordances and barriers. Read more about phase 2.

Phase Three integrates dissemination and consultation to support the project in developing recommendations for enhancing affordances and overcoming barriers in embedding and assessing generic graduate attributes. The recommendations will relate to further research as well as policy development and practical implementation. Read more about phase 3.
