7th Annual Enhancement Themes Conference - Call for Workshop and Poster Proposals
The Scottish Quality Assurance Agency's 7th Annual Enhancement Themes Conference is taking place on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd March 2010. The National GAP Team has formed a collaborative partnership with the QAA 'Graduates for the 21st Century' theme and the poster display at the conference will comprise those accepted through this call for proposals along with a series of posters recently displayed at a number of Australian events, highlighting the work of the Australian National GAP ( Graduate Attributes Project ).
GAP Network members are encouraged to consider submitting additional workshop and poster proposals for this conference. Guidance notes and proposal forms can be found here http://www.enhancementthemes.ac.uk/conference/default.asp.
The closing date for submission of proposals is 8th December 2009. Please e-mail your completed form to enhancement@qaa.ac.uk.
Past Events
Third National GAP Symposia
As part of the dissemination phase of the National GAP, the project team organised a series of state-based symposia in July - August 2009. At the Third National GAP symposia:
- Examples of practice from each participating university were showcased through invited presentations and posters. See Posters
- Participants connected with a similar network of colleagues currently working on the Scottish Quality Enhancement Theme (http://www.enhancementthemes.ac.uk/default.asp) 'Graduates for the 21st Century', a unique opportunity for international exchange and comparison of practices around graduate attributes. A video presentation was made by Claire Carney of QAA Scotland.
- Student organisations contributed to the debate on Graduate Attributes, allowing participants insight into their perspective and experience. A student from University of Sunshine Coast, and another from NUS Scotland also provided video presentations.
- The future role of graduate attributes in institutional Quality Assurance strategies was explored through discussion and a presentation from AUQA. See Videos
- The Australian ePortfolio Project held its second symposium at QUT on 9 -10 February. There is information available at http://www.eportfoliopractice.qut.edu.au/symposium2/index.jsp
- The Embedding the Development of Intercultural Competence in Business Project held a series of national working seminars in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide. Please contact Lesley Treleaven for information.
