VC's and OLT Teaching Awards and Citations

The Vice Chancellor’s Awards for excellence in teaching and learning close this year on Friday 14th March. Applications are warmly invited for all four categories:

  1. Outstanding Teaching
  2. Excellence in Higher Degree Research supervision
  3. Support of the student Experience
  4. Systems that Achieve Collective Excellence

A final workshop to assist those wishing to draft their application to meet the criteria for the awards and to present a professional application will be held on Thursday 6 March. To enrol please click here.

Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning offered by the Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT) now require applications which focus on one criterion and therefore require a different application from those for the VC’s Awards although making an application for a faculty or university award is useful preparation. If you are interested in applying this year or at a future date for an OLT Citation you should attend either the workshop on Thursday 6 March or the workshop especially for those applying for Citations and OLT Awards on Thursday 20th March.

OLT Citations recognise and reward the diverse contributions made by individuals and teams to the quality of student learning. Citations are awarded to those who have made a significant contribution to the quality of student learning in a specific area of responsibility over a sustained period, whether they are academic staff, general staff, sessional staff or institutional associates. Citations provide an opportunity for distinctive institutional missions, values and priorities in learning and teaching to be recognised. Citations are awarded for a range of contributions to student learning, both direct and indirect. Applicants for Citations are nominated by the University. This year the maximum number the University can nominate is six. The internal closing date is 22 April.

Applications are also invited for OTL Awards for Programs which Enhance Learning and for Teaching Excellence. Applicants for these awards are encouraged to attend one of the workshops. Applications close internally on Thursday 29th May.
