FFT Requirements

Feedback for Teachers is a confidential service for individual teachers. Staff are NOT PERMITTED to order on behalf of other staff members. e.g. a head of school cannot order a survey for a lecturer; a lecturer cannot order surveys for a tutor working for them. It is the responsibility of individual teachers to order surveys for themselves.

Upon receipt of the completed forms, the ITL will undertake a thorough check that:

  • the contact details appearing on the Yellow Staff Return Address Slip and White Student Confidentiality Seal have been included and are complete
  • the unit of study name appearing on the Yellow Staff Return Address Slip and White Student Confidentiality Seal are complete
  • the White Student Confidentiality Seal contains a student signature

The ITL is committed to preserving the anonymity and confidentiality of student feedback gathered using the Feedback for Teachers Service. Should any of the above information be missing, the ITL will:

  • Document all problem student feedback packages, including the nature of the problem
  • Contact the staff member by phone to confirm any incomplete or unclear details. Where staff details are absent or unclear, questionnaires will remain at the ITL. When the ITL encounters the name of a staff member who is not listed in the University directory, the ITL will (where it can) contact the relevant department (in which the unit of study is located) to try and make contact with the staff member
  • Include a white slip with the questionnaires and report which indicates the nature of the problem
  • All unidentified surveys are kept by the ITL for 12 months. If they remain unclaimed, they are destroyed
