Making the case for Teaching
In consultation with the Provost and the DVC (Education), the ITL offers workshops in Divisions to support promotion applicants in making their case for Teaching. These workshops are offered in collaboration with A/Deans (L&T)/Staffing, previous successful promotion applicants and members of local promotion committees.
These sessions deal with issues such as: how to appropriately use quantitative and qualitative student feedback data; how to supplement student survey data with peer observation of teaching data; and how to make a convincing case for outstanding teaching.
The sessions usually last 1.5 hours and are held in Faculties in the weeks following the Provosts briefing session. Please contact your Faculty's Associate Dean Learning and Teaching to find out more about the session for your Faculty.
