Office of Learning and Teaching Awards and Citations
The Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT) recognises teaching excellence and outstanding contributions to student learning through Citation and Award schemes for academic and/or general staff. The Award Scheme administered by the OLT replaces that previously administered by the ALTC.
Nominations for OLT Awards and Citations are submitted by the University. Please see below for internal processes.
Citations recognise contributions to student learning in higher education and are open to academic staff, general staff, sessional staff and institutional associates. The University may submit up to eight nominations in a ranked list. There are no specified categories except for the Early Career category of no more than 5 years' experience teaching (see website for definition).
Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning recognise learning and teaching support programs and services across eight categories. The University may submit only one nomination in each category.
Awards for Teaching Excellence recognise outstanding university teachers across eight categories, five discipline categories, the Neville Bonner Award for Indigenous Education, an early career category and an annual priority area. The University may submit only one nomination in each category.
Recipients of Citations receive $10,000 and recipients of Awards $25,000.
There is no nomination process for the following awards:

The application processes for the teaching awards and grants are managed by the ITL
The 2013 internal closing date for OLT Awards is 5pm 30 May.
ITL offers a range of activities to support staff in applying for these awards and provides advice to intending applicants. To support the development of teaching award applications, the ITL runs workshops for intending applicants for Vice Chancellor's Awards or the Office for Learning and Teaching Citations and Awards.
