How to use this Site
This site has been written from the perspective of a teacher wanting to develop or redevelop their unit of study in innovative ways. Since ICT (information and communication technologies) is one common way of innovating the design of units of study, it is prominent throughout this site. However, many of the resources could work for innovative designs other than ICT.
To use this site you could
- get a taste of it through one of the two links on the home page, for first time users called “Academics New to ICT” or for experienced users called “Experienced Academics”.
- identify where you are in the development process. Are you
- Deciding - in other words making some decisions about how to redevelop your unit;
- Designing - up to the stage of planning how to realize your innovation;
- Developing - actually producing the materials;
- Learning - helping students to use the materials to support their learning; or
- Evaluating - reviewing how successfully the innovation worked?
If you can identify in which of these stages you are, then you can go to that section of the site and see what support is offered.
